About the College/Unit/Department: UGA’s College of Environment and Design (CED) is home to the oldest landscape architecture program in the Southeast and one of the largest BLA programs in the United States. In addition to the BLA and MLA programs, the College provides a Master’s of Historic Preservation, a Master’s of Urban Planning and Design, and PhD degrees, as well as certificates in Construction Management, Cultural Landscapes, Environmental Ethics, and Historic Preservation, and minors in Environmental Design, Historic Preservation, Landscape Studies, and Urban Planning. The College’s global presence includes regular programming at UGA’s campus in Cortona, Italy, and a strong working relationship with Nanjing Forestry University and Beijing Forestry University. Minimum Qualifications: A terminal degree in landscape architecture, architecture, construction management, environmental planning and design, or a related field.

Position Summary: This position directly oversees and coordinates facilities planning, procurement, administration, and data analysis with the College of Environment and Design (CED) at the University of Georgia. This position reports directly to and confers regularly with the College leadership and is responsible for managing activities related to facilities, procurement, and data analysis. They coordinate work between the College and various UGA offices, including the Office of University Architects and UGA Facilities Management Division, purchasing furniture, fixtures, and equipment, and assisting with reporting. They will also be responsible for teaching up to 3 classes or 10 credit hours a year.

Additional Requirements: Master’s degree in landscape architecture, architecture, construction management, environmental planning and design, or a related field. Candidates with a non‑terminal degree must document exceptional accomplishments in landscape architecture, architecture, construction management, environmental planning and design, or a related area and must be approved for a terminal degree exception before hire.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification: A degree in the field of architecture, landscape architecture, construction management, or environmental planning and design.5-10 years of work experience1-3 years of teaching and the ability to teach classes in construction management and land development

Background in project management of higher education academic and research facilities

Knowledge of building codes across a broad range of disciplines

3>Duties/Responsibilities: Facilities Management

Project management: Coordinate all work request and act as liaison with Finance and Administration service providers such as FMD, Office of University Architects, and Office of Emergency Preparedness, facilitate asset removal (surplus and inventory transfers), etc., communicate in resolving issues, submit work request for issues needing repair, and oversee project management of activities involving building renovation, maintenance repairs and equipment installations, proactively identify, report and work on resolving facilities issues.

Finance: Develop and manage a budget for facilities and services, identify funding sources, and efficiently utilize resources for facilities.

Representation: Serve as CED representative, such as, not limited to: Building Safety and Security and other appropriate University and College level committees as needed, LSO (Laser Safety Officer) representative, AED monitor and responder, be the point of contact for facilities.

Preparedness: Ensure instructional facilities and offices are set up and maintained and ensure University policy and safety standards are met, in coordination with CED IT, EITS and UGA CTL.

Access Control: Set and manage building access control for students, faculty, and staff.

Management of Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FFE) in conjunction with IT.

Other duties as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities: Procurement

Purchasing: Oversee execution (purchasing, receiving, delivering, set up, etc.) of college spending requests not related to IT equipment or software, but in close coordination with CED IT.

Finance: Develop and manage a budget for procurement requests not related to IT, identify funding sources, and utilize efficient resources for procurement.

Duties/Responsibilities: Data analyst

Planning and Reporting: Assist with developing and implementing policies, procedures, and strategic planning for space utilization and management, accessibility concerns and known maintenance needs, such as, but not limited to: performing ad‑hoc analyses and reporting to inform decision‑making, and work on predictive modeling or other data mining capabilities, managing the college wide annual MRR Requests, Lab Enhancement Request and Classroom Enhancement Request submittal process and preparing various college level reports.

Collect and analyze all credit hour production, course enrollment, and KPI trends for the College, monitoring and tracking data for leadership to inform the design and implementation of strategic plans.

Analyzing faculty activities such as teaching loads (grad and undergrad), class sizes, honors teaching, and professional accomplishments.

Evaluating student academic and professional outcomes on at least an annual basis.
