Position Summary Northrop Grumman is seeking a

Sr. Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist

for its Business Unit,

Armament Systems , located in

Plymouth, MN

or

Telecommute . Armament Systems specializes in the development and production of ammunition, guns and precision guidance ordinance.

Responsibilities The incumbent sources and procures specialized goods and services of a commodity nature from multiple suppliers. They initiate Requests for Quotations and Proposals, receive and analyze proposed pricing, evaluate supplier quality and reliability, and ensure compliance with delivery schedules. They work with internal customers to confirm appropriate specifications, identify cost‑reduction and efficiency opportunities, negotiate targets, issue purchase orders, manage performance, and ensure adherence to public law, company policies, and import/export regulations. Supplier performance is assessed as part of follow‑up activities, and documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse organizations. Purchase orders are reviewed and approved, and supplier payments are reviewed as needed. Lean Six Sigma and other process tools are used with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum 12 years of experience in procurement, or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 6 years of experience.

Understanding of procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.

Ability to collaborate with program management and other multi‑functional teams.

General knowledge of FAR/DFAR and associated federal contracting regulations.

Strong organizational skills.

Demonstrated ability to multi‑task and make decisions in a timely manner.

Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced environment and apply sound judgment to problem solving.

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles or experiences.

Experience with multiple contracting formats, including Firm Fixed Price and Cost Reimbursable, and knowledge of special payment provisions (progress or performance‑based payments). Must understand the proposal process, pricing instructions, terms and conditions, and determine the adequacy of supplier proposals received.

U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

Government contract knowledge and/or experience.

Microsoft Office proficiency.

Experience using CostPoint, Cognos and SharePoint.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $102,000.00 - $153,000.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills and market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long‑Term Incentives.
