We are seeking a Micro transit Operations Supervisor, who focuses on vision, clarity, and integrity. The Microtransit Operations Supervisor / Road Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and customer‑focused delivery of VoTran’s microtransit VoRide and demand‑response services. This position provides direct field and operational supervision of Operators, supports dispatch and real‑time service management, and ensures compliance with safety, ADA, and company policies.
This role acts as a visible, on‑the‑ground leader—bridging Operations, Dispatch, Customer Service, Maintenance, and Technology—to maintain service reliability, support employees, and enhance the customer experience.
The Microtransit Operations Supervisor / Road Supervisor reports to the
Operations Manager.

Core Responsibilities
Supervises microtransit service operations, combining dispatch/radio supervision with responsibility for on‑road supervision and operator oversight.
Maintains operator attendance/records, monitoring in-service vehicles for pickups/drop-offs adherence, handling schedule revisions, managing extra boards, logging in data, documenting incidents, and ensuring service reliability and regulatory compliance.
Coordinates with central management, responds to emergencies or service disruptions, and maintains accurate service data and reports.
Provides field dispatch, communication support, and shift supervision across fixed-route, demand-response, and van operations—useful in multi‑modal transit agencies.
Demonstrated success in managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to work independently with sound judgment and integrity.
Union experience is strongly preferred.
Expertise of the systems, policies, procedures, and regulations that apply to the transit system.
Understanding of regulations set forth by applicable DOT, FTA, EEOC, ADA, Title IV, and any other regulatory entity that may apply.
Detailed knowledge of the geographical layout of the transit area of operation.
Consciously creates a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall organization and emphasizes the identified vision, guiding principles and values of the organization. May assist with vehicle operator tracking system for bus operator performance and evaluations.
Provides direct supervision to microtransit and demand-response Operators during daily service.
Conducts on‑road observations, ride‑along’s, and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and service expectations.
Monitors service performance in real time and responds promptly to service disruptions, delays, operator concerns, or passenger issues.
Serves as the primary field representative during incidents, accidents, or service interruptions.
Supports Dispatch operations using SPARE and related systems to monitor vehicle locations, trip progress, late trips, no‑shows, and missed trips.
Assists in assigning, reassigning, or closing runs as operational needs change.
Coordinates real‑time service adjustments with Dispatch to maintain continuity of service.
Coordinates vehicle change‑outs, road calls, and emergency responses as needed.
Enforces RATP Dev USA safety policies, VoRide procedures, ADA requirements, and regulatory standards.
Responds to accidents and incidents; ensures proper documentation, reporting, and follow‑up actions.
Supports accident investigations and corrective action processes.
Promotes a strong safety culture through coaching, presence, and accountability.
Conducts coaching and mentoring with Operators related to attendance, customer service, performance expectations, and rule compliance.
Documents performance observations and supports progressive discipline, when necessary, in coordination with management and HR.
Serves as a liaison between Operators, Dispatch, Maintenance, and Management.
Assists with Operator onboarding, familiarization, and route/service support.
Responds professionally to customer concerns, service complaints, and on‑site passenger issues.
Ensures that customer interactions reflect VoTran’s commitment to dignity, respect, and service excellence.
Supports Customer Service Representatives by providing field context and operational information.
Maintains accurate daily logs, incident reports, attendance records, and operational reports.
Provides feedback and operational data to Operations leadership for service improvement.
Participates in service reviews, safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Provides coverage during emergencies, special events, adverse weather, or operational disruptions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate’s degree in transportation, management, or related field preferred.
Minimum 2‑5 years of experience in transit operations, dispatch, microtransit, or transportation supervision preferred.
Supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Ability to work in office, field, and vehicle environments.
Ability to lift moderate loads and operate vehicles if required.
Must be able to work under stressful conditions and respond to emergencies.
