Job Description The Quality Inspector 2 position directly supports the Production Departments through incoming inspection of purchased components and final inspection of finished assemblies and components.

Responsibilities

Conduct inspections of products, materials and components at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality standards

Participate in gathering statistical data from product and processes

Perform visual inspections of soldered connections, mechanical inspections of electronic and electro‑mechanical assemblies and subassemblies

Perform visual inspections of soldered assemblies to IPC‑A‑610 standards, and harness assemblies

Prepare and complete all necessary documentation for reporting acceptance/rejection of inspected and/or tested items

Identify design, process or other inefficiencies and report quality concerns and issues

Maintain inspection records

Create and review First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) IAW AS9102

Perform customer source inspection

Issue authorized release certificates/tags

Maintain calibration recall and records

Prepare certifications in accordance with appropriate regulation

Other responsibilities as assigned

Maintain regular, consistent and punctual attendance; may need to work nights, weekends, variable schedules and additional hours as necessary

Physical Requirements

Approximately 75% sitting and 25% standing/walking inside company facilities

Lift and carry up to 30 lbs.

Use head & neck in static position while looking up/down and side-to-side

Perform light lifting from floor, table and shelf; push and pull carts or mobile tables, loaded and unloaded

Limited heavy lifting, bending, twisting, climbing, lifting arms above shoulders, kneeling

Minimal exposure to excessive noise, hazardous chemicals, hazardous equipment, uneven walking surfaces

Typing with computer and keyboard

Qualifications

Ability to follow established job instructions and procedures with minimal supervision

Apply a systematic QA approach while using existing procedures to solve a range of technical issues

Skilled at using measuring equipment as prescribed by job assignment

Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, assembly drawings, parts lists, workmanship standards, standard inspection procedures, wiring diagrams, and ability to add tolerances using decimals, etc.

Technical knowledge of aerospace standards for First Article Inspection Reports, AS9102

Interpret and follow written and verbal instructions, including engineering drawings, charts, diagrams, and sketches

Read, write and understand English

Read technical drawings with multiple views

Critical thinking and problem solving

Organizational skills

Education & Experience

Education: Secondary Certificate / High School Diploma or equivalent

Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or equivalent experience in related field beneficial

Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience (Aerospace and Electronics environments preferred)

Location Tucson, AZ

Compensation Base pay range: $19.00/hr - $23.00/hr
