Job Summary The Intermodal Business Coordinator (IBC) is a front‑line operations role that manages customer's intermodal freight from origin to delivery. The IBC builds relationships with rail, drayage vendors and customers, ensuring timely execution and full compliance with contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Process orders in the Alliance operating system.
Build relationships with rail, drayage vendors, and customers to meet requirements.
Maintain customer accounts and keep the operating system updated with current shipment data daily.
Ensure timely pickup and delivery for each customer order, resolving and communicating any issues.
Escalate issues outside SOPs to appropriate Alliance management.
Train new team members on accounts as needed.
Qualifications
Experience with intermodal freight handling, shipping operations, or freight forwarding.
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business administration, or related field (preferred but not required).
1–2 years of industry experience.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while balancing multiple responsibilities.
Conflict‑resolution skills and attitude to prevent future issues.
Honest, strong work ethic, resourceful, with effective negotiation skills.
High attention to detail and strong time‑management skills.
Critical‑thinking and multitasking ability.
Excellent written and oral communication.
High sense of urgency and drive to succeed.
Proficient computer skills.
