Job Summary As a senior analyst in the Strategic Sourcing analytics team, you will utilize your sound business acumen, knowledge and experience in financial modeling and data mining to deliver business insights and provide actionable recommendations to organizational leaders in support of sourcing decisions. The Senior Sourcing Data Analyst will provide advanced analytics, cost modeling, and market intelligence to support strategic sourcing decisions. This role goes beyond tactical reporting and will be accountable for designing should‑cost models, owning data governance, mentoring junior analysts, and presenting actionable insights to senior leadership. The Senior Analyst serves as both a technical expert and strategic partner, directly influencing supplier negotiations and sourcing outcomes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Works closely with Sourcing Managers and cross‑functional partners in conducting research on economic trends in key supply markets, analyzing spend data, and preparing monthly status reports.

Gain a deep understanding of key Strategic Sourcing initiatives and provide analytical solutions that drive the success of these initiatives.

Support RFx preparation and execution through data collection, spend analyses, RFP bids analytics.

Participate in the development, design and implementation of processes that collect and report data and statistics on spending by vendor and category.

Lead data governance activities including supplier master alignment, contract metadata accuracy, and spend categorization standards across sourcing systems.

Develop models and dashboards to help stakeholders better understand key drivers of costs (e.g., commodity prices, inflation, business environment, legislation, and the global economy).

Develop hypothesis‑driven strategies based on data and analysis to reduce such costs (Cost of Goods Sold and OSG&A).

Lead advanced analytics to support negotiations and sourcing decisions, including commodity tracking, cost‑increase validation, and multi‑scenario should‑cost models incorporating freight, tariffs, FX, and component‑level cost drivers.

Develop structured, repeatable RFP and cost‑analysis tools and partner with Sourcing Managers to identify savings opportunities.

Mentor junior analysts and oversee work quality for consistency and accuracy.

Collaborate with global sourcing partners—including the Global Support Center (India)—to align methodologies, ensure consistent analytical standards, and maintain high‑quality, accurate reporting across regions.

Conduct supplier market research and identification and build supplier bid analyses and negotiation materials.

Communicate findings and provide actionable recommendations in a clear and concise manner to non‑technical audiences and managers.

Provide suggestions and collaborate with teams and stakeholders to solve problems by assessing the situation, leveraging, and analyzing relevant data, identifying root causes and developing potential solutions.

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Adapt to change, quickly learn details of new business challenges and identify dependencies and impacts of other key initiatives.

Education And Experience Education:

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Business Analytics, Economics or Finance.

Master’s Degree is preferred but not required.

Years of Relevant Work Experience:

Minimum of 4+ years utilizing data analytics to drive business decisions.

Specific Knowledge and Skills

Demonstrate ability to build and analyze financial models to evaluate proposal scenarios and present recommendations in a clear and concise format.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of management.

Extensive knowledge of financial modeling and reporting.

Proficient in Power BI and/or Tableau (e.g., building dashboards and reports).

Possess SQL and other query knowledge with an emphasis in data mining and modeling to create impactful management reports.

Experience working in procurement or sourcing systems (e.g., contract repositories, supplier master data, sourcing/RFP modules, or spend analytics tools).

Advanced in the Microsoft Suite, especially MS Excel, MS Access, and PowerPoint.

Knowledge of GEP Smart procurement software preferred but not required.

Knowledge of Oracle reporting (OBIIE) software preferred but not required.

Exceptional analytical skills and business acumen.

Demonstrate the ability to solve complex problems with minimal direction.
