Inside Higher Ed Location: Tallahassee, FL Full-Time, Regular position at Florida State University College of Arts & Sciences, Department of Military Science. Responsibilities
The Academic Program Specialist serves as the FSU academic advisor for Cadets in the Department of Military Science/Army ROTC program, advising them in academic planning success integrating Army scholarship and commissioning requirements with college graduation requirements. Preparing measured academics and degree track information for Cadets and compiling data and information to provide department stakeholders with detailed reports and providing guidance to students on academic warning or probation. Performing FSU graduation checks, initiating and processing Graduation Certification letters, coordinating with Registrar, professors, advisors, and campus officials to confirm graduation eligibility. Building course schedule for Army ROTC each semester, assigning classrooms, processing drop/adds, and coordinating grade change requests. Calculating Cadet transcripts and GPA each semester to support submission to Cadet Command Information System (CCIMS). Overseeing department webpage updates with new personnel and changes in the Army ROTC program, serving as point person coordinating and communicating with College of Arts & Sciences Marketing and Communications team. Serving as Property Custodian for the department monitoring FSU property and assisting department Property Manager in maintaining logbooks and updating program documentation. Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.) Preferred Qualifications
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and common computer applications, specifically Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat Skill in preparing clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondences, and other written materials Effective communication skills (phone, email, and in-person) and the ability to demonstrate courteous and professional customer service skills Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations related to contracting Cadets into active duty, guard or reserve Army forces. Experience in or with the military. Experience with Drupal web design. Experience with FSU’s OMNI system, including Student Central, Canvas, and Campus Connect. Equal Employment Opportunity

Minimum starting salary for the position is $44,056. Anticipated starting salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
