Job Description Value Creation is the fastest‑growing division at Malk. Through exceptionally strong relationships with investors, Malk is uniquely positioned to serve portfolio companies as they define their sustainability strategies to drive value through increased revenue, reduced cost, mitigated risks, building resilience, and setting up for exit, taking a dynamic and changing commercial and regulatory landscape into account. Often, Malk will be these companies’ first advisor in the ESG space and will play an instrumental role in shaping their ESG journey.
As Engagement Manager on the Value Creation team, you will lead high‑caliber projects for a range of clients and support the management of Value Creation as a division, including planning, team building, and strategic development of the product and the process. You will also support business development efforts. You will report to a Senior Vice President and manage 1‑3 Consultants and/or Associates.
Responsibilities
Client Engagements – Maintain oversight across several concurrent Value Creation engagements, ensuring deliverable quality and consistency while serving as the client point of contact for broader account questions (≈50% of total time).
Managerial / Professional Development – Oversee a team of 1‑3 Project Managers, Consultants, and Associates, support and advise on professional development, including skill‑building, goal‑setting, and coaching to help them achieve proficiency and eventual promotion/advancement (≈20% of total time).
Business Development – Identify sales opportunities among current, new, and prospective clients, lead proposal processes alongside the Value Creation leadership and experts (≈20% of total time).
Sector Leadership – Support overall management and development for Value Creation as a sector, including product and process development, financial reporting and planning, resource planning, and sector strategy together with the Value Creation leadership team (≈10% of total time).
Qualifications
Skills – Project management, organization, communication, presentation, teamwork, attention to detail; strong writing, research, organization, qualitative reasoning, and business acumen are preferred.
Experience – 5+ years of experience in management consulting or a similar field; previous ESG/Sustainability experience is preferred but not required.
Education – Demonstrated track record of success in a rigorous academic environment.
Mindset – Highly motivated, passionate about solving business problems, self‑starter, critical thinker, highly organized, able to work independently, multitask, coach/develop, and enjoy an informal work environment.
Additional Details
Location – New York; in office at least 3 days a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays).
Compensation – $155,000 plus full benefits package.
