The I.D. Movement is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging generational divides, inspiring and supporting male development, and empowering fatherless youth. Through group mentorship programs, workshops, community dialogues, and published materials, the organization creates impactful connections and fosters personal growth. Its flagship program, The Holistic Approach, is a 6-week model designed to mentor young boys of color aged 12-17 through engaging workshops led by influential male leaders. The I.D. Movement also hosts community events centered around storytelling and publishes insights from leaders to inspire and guide the next generation.

Role Description

This contract role for a Program Facilitator & Youth Mentor involves delivering The Holistic Approach and Ascend & Achieve program to young boys aged 12-19. Responsibilities include facilitating workshops, conducting group mentorship sessions, fostering open communication, and providing guidance and support to youth participants. The role also involves assisting with community events and contributing to the organization’s mission of empowering the next generation.

This is an on-site role based in Dayton, OH. This position works with Montgomery Juvenile Detention Center and is a contracted, part time position. 2-7 hours per week, depending on the need.

Qualifications

Experience in mentorship, facilitating programs, and working with youth, particularly ages 12-19

Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills

Leadership abilities, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Event coordination and organizational skills

Passion for mentoring and empowering youth, particularly underrepresented groups

Ability to cultivate relationships and foster inclusive, supportive environments

Familiarity with working or volunteering in nonprofit or youth-centered programs is a plus

High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling, or related field preferred
