Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is looking for a Sr. Manager, Material Planning in Suwanee, GA.
POSITION SUMMARY The Senior Manager of Material Planning is responsible for overseeing and optimizing material planning activities to ensure timely, reliable, and cost‑effective procurement and delivery of materials. This role collaborates with sales, demand intelligence, product management, logistics teams and factories to balance supply with demand, reduce material shortages, minimize excess inventory, and support the organization’s operational and financial goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead, develop, and mentor a team of material planners and analysts.
Develop and implement material planning strategies, policies, and processes.
Analyze demand forecasts and production schedules to determine material requirements.
Ensure timely procurement of finished goods, accessories and service parts in alignment with demand.
Optimize inventory levels to achieve targets for turns and availability.
Collaborate with factories, suppliers, logistics, and other functional departments to resolve material availability issues and coordinate changes in requirements.
Review and decide monthly purchase plan with department head for each SKU.
Prepare and present regular reports on key sales and inventory data/trends monthly to share with senior management (Sales, Inventory and Operation Planning (SIOP) meeting).
Drive process improvements and system enhancements to achieve greater efficiency in the material planning process.
Responsible for updating and maintaining SIOP forecast for each warehouse for forecasting, purchasing and inventory management.
Work closely with Product Management and Sales during new product introduction. Manage smooth transition of model changes (phase in/out) and minimize obsolete inventory.
Lead Weekly meetings with the local manufacturing team and monthly meetings with overseas factories to decide on production plan and product mix to balance the stock level and production capacity.
Support HVAC Accounting Department in the Cash Flow management process and provide the monthly inventory classification report by product category.
Lead and participate in cross‑functional projects as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Operations, or related field.
7+ years’ experience working with a highly sophisticated planning tool and methodology; Logility experience highly preferred.
5+ years’ experience managing a team.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills are necessary, as this person will interface with other departments, senior & executive management, customers, and vendors.
Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
Strong knowledge of materials planning, MRP/ERP systems, and supply chain best practices.
Proactive and strategic thinker with a hands‑on management style.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and respond to daily changes in supply and demand balance.
Experience in manufacturing and/or high‑volume production environments is highly preferred.
Self‑starter, team player, result oriented, capable of working with minimum supervision and meeting project deadlines.
Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
SAP experience preferred.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $128,000 and $176,000 per year; base pay offered may vary depending on market location, job‑related knowledge, skills and experience.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including target bonus plans and discretionary awards. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in company‑sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Employees will also receive 120 hours of vacation per year, 56 hours of paid sick leave annually, and 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, depending on hire date. Employees may also take up to 12 weeks of paid or unpaid leave (parental, disability, emergency, etc.) if eligible.
