Overview The Enterprise Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE) is transitioning the organization from Power BI to Sigma to create a more streamlined, governed, and cloud-native analytics environment. We are seeking a BI Report Developer who will play a key role in this migration, build and maintain critical enterprise reports in Sigma, and serve as a support resource for business users in our federated analytics model. This role requires strong SQL skills, a solid understanding of relational databases and semantic models, and the ability to work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver impactful reports.
Responsibilities
Migration from Power BI to Sigma Lead the migration of existing Power BI reports to Sigma, ensuring accuracy, performance, and usability.
Translate
DAX measures
and Power BI semantic models into
SQL and Snowflake semantic views .
Document and rationalize legacy reports to minimize duplication and optimize delivery.
Ongoing Report Development Build, test, and maintain
enterprise-level reports and dashboards
in Sigma.
Ensure reports adhere to governance standards, performance expectations, and business requirements.
Leverage SQL and semantic models to create scalable, reusable datasets.
Federated Model Support Act as a
support resource
for business users who are developing self-service Sigma reports.
Provide guidance on Sigma best practices.
Troubleshoot and optimize user-created reports to maintain quality and consistency.
Requirements Gathering & Project Management Meet with business stakeholders to capture requirements, define success criteria, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
Apply project management principles within the existing framework (requirements documentation, prioritization, change management) to deliver reporting solutions on time.
Communicate clearly with stakeholders and team members to manage expectations and track progress.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in a similar analytics or data-focused role.
Required Skills & Experience SQL proficiency
(Snowflake experience preferred). Strong understanding of
relational database models, semantic data models, and dimensional design .
Power BI expertise
(report development, DAX, semantic models). Experience in
requirements gathering
and translating business needs into technical solutions. Familiarity with
project management principles
and structured delivery approaches. Strong communication and problem‑solving skills. Curiosity and enthusiasm for
cutting‑edge analytics tools and approaches .
Preferred Skills Familiarity with
Sigma
(or strong desire to learn). Experience working in a
federated analytics model
or supporting self‑service BI. Exposure to embedded analytics, NLP‑driven BI, or modern cloud‑native BI practices.
Travel Ability to travel domestically as needed, no more than 10% of the time.
Standard and Physical Requirements Position involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and minimal lifting.
