HCN Process Manager - Memphis Plant
The HCN Process Manager provides day-to-day guidance in safely operating the hydrogen cyanide manufacturing plant in Memphis, TN. The process manager owns the production area and makes decisions and provides direction to meet production goals and best utilize the manufacturing assets. The position has 4 direct reports, including the HCN Operations Specialist, (2) Maintenance Coordinators, and the area safety operator.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide direction to shift supervisors/operators
Verbal communication and coaching
Daily shift instructions
Interface with the supply chain to meet production goals
Monitor the process conditions and get other resources involved as needed to troubleshoot/optimize plant operation
Lead the morning process monitoring meeting and provide an update during the 0800 site meeting
Work with Maintenance Coordinators and plant resources to plan scheduled outages
Develop work list
Screen/scrub items from the list according to business need
Provide input during Capital Project design reviews and work with shift supervisors to schedule operators for participation.
Provide a weekly work schedule for operators
Deploy flexible resources as needed (vacation relief operators, HCN Safety Operator)
Ensure mandatory training is scheduled
Set the standard for safety and housekeeping in the area.
Coordinate work that impacts one of the ancillary units (Trade Waste/Environmental Control Facility, Aminonitriles, Tank Farm) with the respective management or vice versa.
Provide functional guidance to Shift Supervisors.
Review HCN area procedures/SOCs
Review HCN MOCs
Conduct Incident Investigations as assigned
Optimize plant performance and maximize available production days
Scheduling catalyst changes overlapping other opportunities to minimize production impact
Strategic scheduling of outage work taking customer impacts, raw material availability, demand, etc. into consideration.
Manage catalyst inventory
Provide felt support and guidance during process outages
Primary area contact for operations
The following is required for this role:
Strong understanding of chemical process operations
5+ years of experience in management of High Hazard Process (HHP) facilities/hazardous materials manufacturing.
Demonstrated understanding of safety procedures and corporate safety philosophy
Demonstrated leadership abilities and the ability to work with a diverse population of employees and contractors
Ability to set priorities and provide direction
Demonstrated strong teamwork, collaboration, and cross-cultural skills
Demonstrated ability to create a respectful work environment where everyone can contribute to their full potential
Demonstrated to drive results and meet tight timelines
Excellent time management and strategic planning skills
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Forms, Teams
The following is preferred for this role:
Experience with hydrogen cyanide manufacturing or handling.
SAP experience
Strong understanding of plant costs and general accounting principles
