Position Title:

Power Supply Analyst I

Reports To:

Assistant Vice President of Power Supply Planning

Basic Functions:

Assist in power supply resource portfolio planning, modeling and market analysis for Municipal Electric Systems.

Essential Functions

Builds and maintains Excel spreadsheets and databases for planning, budgeting and load forecasting purposes.

Assists in development of power resource portfolios for member Municipal Electric System communities.

Analyzes and evaluates power supply options including power purchases and generation projects (including wind, solar, storage, diesel, natural gas and hydro).

Provides analysis of natural gas and electric energy market for market purchases and sales strategies.

Develops long and short term energy usage forecasts for Member Municipal Electric System communities.

Prepares written documents and presentations for education, information and marketing of power supply projects and portfolios.

Presents power supply positions and strategies to internal staff and Members.

Develops and reviews electric power supply contracts with suppliers and Members.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications

A minimum of a four-year degree in engineering, business, economics, data analytics, mathematics or related fields.

Knowledge of electric power preferred, but not required. Understanding energy and commodity pricing concepts is a plus.

Strong written and oral communication skills required.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite products especially Excel, Power Point and Access.

Must be a self-starter, customer focused and have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Must be highly accurate and detail oriented and have excellent project management, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Must successfully complete FERC Standards of Conduct compliance training within 30 days of employment.
