The Humana Safety and Security team provides physical security, environmental health, and executive protection across the enterprise. This executive-level role reports to the Security Leader of the Exec Protection Team and requires independent decision‑making, strong judgment, and the ability to interact with leaders at all levels. Flexibility for short‑notice travel and weekend commitments is essential. Responsibilities
Conduct threat, risk, and vulnerability assessments ahead of events or travel and develop cost‑effective countermeasures. Liaise with the physical security team and contractors to deploy appropriate security measures and technology. Investigate threats to associates and implement safeguards. Coordinate with external venue security to ensure tailored risk mitigation. Provide transportation to senior leaders and coordinate fleet vehicle usage. Consult with partners to address logistical requirements and support travel planning with Executive Assistants. Provide routine updates to supervisor and the Humana Fusion Center for situational awareness. Consult with facilities and project managers during construction for safety/security considerations. Contribute to SOP development for travel and event planning. Manage relationships with maintenance and security vendors at select sites, including executive residences. Deliver close protection of executive members, including strategy assessment and implementation. Interpret security standards, practices, and programs to support regional and global initiatives. Participate in continuous Exec Protection training and maintain liaison with government, industry, and intelligence professionals. Brief executives on geopolitical developments and trends affecting Humana business and personnel. Travel nationwide and internationally, with frequent overnight and weekend travel as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Corporate and/or government experience interacting with senior leaders (C‑Suite) and VIPs. 5+ years of previous military, law enforcement, or executive/personal security experience. 5+ years of security experience, including small detail, event security, and budget management. Approximately 35% travel and weekend support requirements. Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and educating skills. Superior ability to use security systems and applications. Excellent analytical skills for complex security issue identification and solution implementation. Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure in complex situations. Proven customer service and relationship management skills. Demonstrated project management skills. Office (5 days/week) when not on travel, located at 1700 Broadway, New York, NY.
