Uncrewed Systems (UxS) within HII’s Mission Technologies division develops unmanned underwater and surface vehicles, autonomous software, and advanced solutions for defense, marine research, and commercial applications.
Responsibilities
Direct all phases of program/project from capture through completion.
Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing programs/projects and serve as liaison between financial management and planning, project teams, functional teams, and subcontractors.
Participate in the negotiation of contracts and contract changes.
Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal technical and cost sections, statement of work, terms, and conditions.
Act as the primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Establish and coordinate engineering and technical, integration, test and evaluation efforts.
Establish program budget and milestones and monitor adherence to costs and schedules.
Determine reasons and plan responses for shortfalls in program revenue targets.
Facilitate regular, professional team meetings across the program team with active follow‑up action items.
Communicate complex issues, gain consensus with engineering, production, quality, and other stakeholders.
Review status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports, including resource utilization and risk management.
Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client‑satisfaction goals and objectives.
Qualifications
8 years of relevant progressive experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or 6 years of relevant progressive experience with a Master’s degree; or 12 years of relevant progressive experience with a high school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor of Science preferred).
3 years of program management experience.
Military service in the Navy or Marine Corps of at least 5 years on surface ships or with deployed Marine units.
Position requires approximately 25% travel.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Position is onsite in Virginia Beach.
Physical Requirements Job performance may require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds or to lift more than 40 pounds above three feet above the floor level.
