Role Overview We’re seeking a results‑driven
Business Development Manager
to grow revenue across our exhibits, sponsorship, and advertising portfolio. This role focuses on new business acquisition through consultative selling, and long‑term client relationship management. You will create tailored solutions for partners, collaborate across teams, and ensure exceptional fulfillment of sold opportunities.
This position reports to the
VP of Meeting Services
with a dotted line to the
SVP of Marketing & Communications .
Key Responsibilities Business Development & Sales
Drive revenue growth through exhibit, sponsorship, and advertising sales.
Identify and qualify leads through outreach, research, and industry engagement.
Conduct discovery with clients to build customized, value‑driven solutions.
Negotiate contracts and manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to close.
Track sales performance and maintain accurate records in CRM systems.
Partner with internal teams on sales strategies, proposals, and campaign execution.
Account Management
Manage and grow assigned accounts, ensuring satisfaction and retention.
Provide ongoing support, proactive communication, and solution recommendations.
Oversee renewals, monitor account performance, and identify upsell opportunities.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless client delivery.
Additional Responsibilities
Contribute to process improvements and organizational revenue goals.
Stay current on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies.
Support team members as needed during peak periods or absences.
Qualifications
5–7 years
of outbound sales or business development experience; experience with exhibits, sponsorships, or advertising preferred.
Proven success meeting revenue targets and managing a client portfolio.
Strong consultative selling, negotiation, relationship‑building skills, and key account management.
Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive‑level presentations.
Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of ICT, events, or association environments is a plus.
High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred (business, marketing, communications, or related field).
Location:
In‑office role based in
Tampa, FL
(required).
Travel:
Up to 20% (including two‑week‑long annual conferences, site visits, and industry events). Must be able to obtain a U.S. passport.
Schedule:
Full‑time, Monday–Friday, with occasional extended hours during events.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and spend extended periods standing/walking during onsite events.
