The Opportunity Black & Veatch is a global engineering and construction company focused on sustainable infrastructure. We are looking for a Senior Market and Competitive Intelligence Analyst to join our Market Insights unit within Enterprise Strategy. The role consolidates multiple sources of information into succinct findings, presenting them through reports, presentations, and briefings to support senior leadership and diverse internal clients.
Key Responsibilities
Organize, analyze, and execute market intelligence and research projects across a wide range of market segments, clients, solutions and technologies.
Manage multiple research assignments while maintaining and progressing toward different deadlines, and support business partners’ time‑sensitive needs.
Apply advanced analytical skills to mine, interpret and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data into intelligence and insights, creating meaningful communications, including data visualizations, dashboards, reports and presentations.
Utilize GenAI tools and skills to assist in the intelligence research processes and to work more efficiently, effectively and productively.
Proactively create and write compelling and impactful trend topics for market briefs that tell a story with clear and actionable connections to business decisions.
Communicate and network with internal business partners to understand internal client needs, manage relationships and stay informed about external clients.
Develop and maintain functional and operational expertise across multiple external information and database services, platforms, and industry relationships.
Demonstrate advanced aptitude in financial analysis to support strategic growth assessments by facilitating and delivering market plans with objective market forecast projections.
Direct and track the competitive landscape and market differentiation from research resources, industry sources, external databases and outside experts.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and understanding of the engineering and construction industry and industrial infrastructure markets such as natural gas, LNG, renewables, transmission, distributed generation, hydrogen, ammonia, energy storage, environmental, water treatment, electric vehicles, data centers, manufacturing, petrochemicals and fertilizers.
Advanced proficiency in artificial intelligence and generative AI programs and software, ranging from general usage to modeling and other applications.
Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint and data presentation software, with advanced capabilities in pivot tables, charting, visualizations and analytics.
Strong analytical and critical thinking competencies, with the ability to distill large amounts of data into strategic analysis and meaningful insights.
Experience in financial analysis, including developing market forecasts and projections.
Project organization and coordination skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to prioritize tasks and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
Clear, concise, grammatically correct writing skills, able to transform trends and insights into compelling stories.
Effective oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to lead executive‑level meetings, host conference calls and deliver presentations.
A self‑starter and results‑oriented problem solver, with interpersonal skills oriented toward listening, collaboration, teamwork and resiliency.
A creative and adaptable mindset with curiosity about the world and business environment.
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of experience, preferably within a market/competitive intelligence group and/or with engineering and construction companies and/or in a B2B services industry.
