Overview
The Sr Contract Analyst is responsible for managing contracting activities for GPOs, IDNs, tiered agreements, and complex key accounts in the Pharmaceutical business unit. The analyst extracts, analyzes, and interprets data from an array of systems to address complex business issues and collaborates with Sales, National Accounts, Finance, Marketing, Customer Service, Contract Operations, and Master Data teams. In collaboration with the Manager, Contract Marketing, the analyst trains team members within the department to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives, including identifying training needs and new processes to improve overall team efficiency and productivity. This is a hybrid position requiring on‑site presence at the Lake Zurich, Illinois office three days a week.
Salary & Benefits
Salary Range: $80,000 – $95,000 per year. Position is eligible for a bonus plan with a target of 6% of the base salary. Benefits include comprehensive health, dental, vision coverage; life insurance; disability; 401(k) with company contribution; and wellness program.
Responsibilities
Primary lead for administering GPO contracting activities and liaison between Sales and Contract Marketing.
Administers and maintains all contract setups in the Model N system.
Ensures governance of pricing relationships, membership rosters, and contract eligibility processes.
Participates in and recommends contract terms for customer agreements; may interface directly with customers on negotiations.
Confirms and validates contract setups and eligibility within required timelines.
Compiles and maintains product information for bids, RFPs, and RFIs.
Provides guidance on all contracting activities—including bids/RFPs, terms and conditions, and redlining—in collaboration with functional stakeholders.
Supports and executes contract strategy and bid responses with senior leaders across the commercial organization.
Collaborates with internal functional groups on account-related correspondence, updates, maintenance, milestone tracking, billing, and membership.
Leads GPO and IDN contract sign‑up processes for all products and designated accounts.
Proactively tracks, governs, and leads expiring contracts or extension activities.
Provides accurate ad hoc reporting as needed.
Identifies process improvement opportunities and develops or enhances tools to support deliverables.
Uses SAP, Model N, Qlik, CLM, CRM, and other databases/tools to obtain, prepare, compile, and analyze information.
Analyzes KPIs to drive improvements in contract marketing processes.
Supports new product launches by ensuring contract information is up to date.
Completes all required training, including department‑specific and compliance training.
Participates in all reasonable work activities assigned by management.
Ensures compliance with company documents and programs related to Health, Safety, Environment, Energy, and Quality Management Systems.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree is a plus).
Minimum of 5 years of related experience (preferably in contracting, pricing, healthcare).
Knowledge of medical device, hospital/pharmacy products, and/or pharmaceutical industry contractual terms and conditions is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated business acumen and experience with customer agreements, especially GPO, IDN, and hospital/clinic contracting.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with critical thinking and problem‑resolution abilities.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access; advanced Excel skills).
Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP), CLM, CRM, Qlik, and other database concepts preferred.
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.
Willingness to work flexible hours and weekends to meet business/customer needs.
Can manage multiple complex projects independently with strong time‑management skills.
Produces a positive, service‑oriented attitude when working with internal employees and external contacts.
Maintains confidentiality and discretion in business relationships, exercising sound judgment.
