Department
The Division of University Advancement is one of five central divisions of the university whose primary purpose is to enhance the private support and knowledge of the university. This is accomplished by initiating programs, events, and activities that stimulate the involvement and interest of alumni, friends, parents, corporations, and foundations to develop relationships that will foster and stimulate giving to the university. Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative coordination: draft professional correspondence, verify documents requiring front‑line development officers’ attention, manage calendars, coordinate meetings, and provide logistical support before, during, and after events. Project coordination: plan and execute events, coordinate sponsorship outreach, maintain donor stewardship systems, develop alumni and donor communications, and update related web content. Data management: maintain accurate mailing lists, generate standard and ad‑hoc reports, reconcile monthly gift and productivity reports, and process deposit slips in compliance with gift‑processing protocols. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. Valid California Driver’s License with current insurance. Five (5) years of progressively responsible general office clerical or secretarial experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills; thorough knowledge of university policies, English grammar, punctuation, spelling, office systems, and technology packages. Ability to manage multiple priorities, apply policies independently, understand budget procedures, perform business math, and handle interpersonal contacts. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of financial structures of donations, grants, and contracts including cash, gift‑in‑kind, stocks, securities, planned gifts, endowments, and real estate. Equal Employment Opportunity
