RH is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join our Dmitriy & Co manufacturing location in Los Angeles, CA. This role requires exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality. The Purchasing Specialist will execute day-to-day purchasing operations, collaborating with internal teams and vendors to ensure that components and materials are available on time to meet production deadlines. The ideal candidate brings a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, balancing accuracy and efficiency with a commitment to quality.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead daily vendor transactions, communication, and relationships
Maintain and strengthen working relationships with new and existing vendors
Coordinate component and material purchasing based on vendor capabilities to ensure production deadlines and quality standards are met
Collaborate with the production team to review vendor quality, accuracy, and timeliness, recommending adjustments where needed
Maintain purchasing documentation and project management systems, including shipping tickets, invoices, and tracking records
Own the coordination of pickups and deliveries with internal and external teams
Update and oversee project management tools to ensure component statuses and information remain accurate and current
Partner with the Development Team on adjustments to technical drawings informed by vendor or production feedback
Identify and recommend opportunities to optimize purchasing operations, systems, and workflows to support scaling production needs
Partner closely with Office, Production, and Accounting teams to support purchasing excellence
Contribute to additional projects and initiatives in support of overall operational success as needed
OUR REQUIREMENTS
2+ years of experience in purchasing within the furniture industry
Proficiency in reading and interpreting production technical drawings
Strong communication and relationship management skills
Highly proactive, detail-oriented, and organized, with strong time management skills
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Proficient with Mac, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and Google Workspace
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Energized by growth and continuous improvement
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lift and mobilize furniture, materials, and accessories in excess of 35 lbs while adhering to safety guidelines
Sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods
Maneuver throughout office spaces, the workroom floor, and loading docks
Distinguish differences in color, shade, and brightness
