Trade Compliance PM Governance, Global Trade Controls and Oversight, AWS Compliance & Security Assurance Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced Global Trade Compliance Program Manager to build upon our controls and oversight program and support our expanding business on a broad range of global import and export compliance matters. This role will have a heavy focus on leveraging technology and data to scale internal validations. The team member in this role will build a best‑in‑class internal review program. You will interact with AWS Development, Datacenter Engineering, AWS Services, Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Legal, Tax, and other internal businesses and external stakeholders to drive trade compliance. This position will report to the Manager of Global Trade Controls and Oversight for AWS in Arlington, VA.

GTPC is responsible for ensuring that the infrastructure equipment necessary to support the AWS services is imported/exported in a compliant manner across the multiple countries where AWS operates and will expand.

Key job responsibilities

Identify and define a plan of action to advance AWS’ internal validations program.

Build communications and training plans to ensure all internal and external partners are aware and aligned to trade controls and risk mitigation.

Manage global import/export regulatory or procedural changes that impact the trade compliance governance program; clearly communicate the changes and associated impact to stakeholders.

Build and maintain data‑informed metrics and monitor for actionable insights that enhance the trade controls program.

Establish and manage positive business relations with key stakeholders and business teams.

Generate and contribute to performance requirements, timelines, and metrics for all related activities.

Proactively identify and drive automation, simplification, and process improvement initiatives.

Build and maintain strict adherence to reporting and assessments.

Basic Qualifications

Experience leveraging technology to drive process improvements.

4+ years of direct experience with customs and trade compliance.

4+ years’ experience commensurate with extensive knowledge of handling imports and/or exports in accordance with foreign government regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.

Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Quick Sight, Tableau, Power BI or other BI packages.

1+ years of logistics, transportation, supply chain, import/export operations, or data entry/data administration experience.

Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem‑solving abilities.

Master's degree.

Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.

Six‑Sigma or equivalent certification.

US Customs Brokerage License.

Ability to apply trade knowledge to business flows, and understand priorities from a financial and tax assessment perspective highly desirable.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $196,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
