Job Description Summary: The Logistics Specialist is responsible for overseeing daily dispatch and transportation activities, ensuring efficient movement of materials and finished goods across the supply chain. The role manages inbound and outbound logistics within the plant, supports just-in-time (JIT) material supply to production lines, and maintains optimal warehouse inventory levels. Key responsibilities include planning and managing dispatch schedules, coordinating with carriers and drivers, resolving transportation issues, and controlling freight costs. The specialist improves logistics flow and material handling processes to support production efficiency and collaborates with logistics partners while driving cost‑saving initiatives and process improvements. Monitoring KPIs, maintaining safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement projects are integral to success in this position.
Responsibilities
Plan and manage daily dispatch schedules based on shipment requirements
Coordinate delivery schedules with carriers and drivers
Handle issues such as delays, damages, returns, and transportation incidents
Manage transportation documents and support freight cost control
Manage inbound/outbound materials and inventory within the factory
Support timely supply (JIT) of materials to production lines
Operate finished goods warehouse and maintain optimal inventory levels
Improve logistics flow and on-site material movement within the plant
Perform material transactions, receiving, issuing, and inventory adjustments in SAP (MM/WM)
Process logistics-related documents such as goods movement and BOM checks
Analyze logistics data and prepare operational reports
Maintain accuracy in system entries and monitor stock discrepancies
Manage and communicate with logistics partners (carriers, warehouses, 3PL)
Support cost-saving initiatives and logistics process improvements
Monitor KPIs and ensure compliance with safety and internal standards
Required Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field.
Basic understanding of transportation and dispatch operations
Experience in plant logistics or production material management
Experience working with 3PLs or transportation vendors
SAP or ERP systems experienceParticipation in logistics improvement or cost‑reduction projects
Logistics or safety-related certifications
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
