Job Description The PT Coordinator I, Student Life is responsible for coordinating general functions in Student Life, including events, services, purchasing, and coordination with student organizations. The coordinator reports to the Program Manager for Student Life and maintains effective communication with key student services personnel. The role may also assist with special projects as assigned by the Office of Student Life.

Essential Job Functions

Schedules events and meetings; maintains Student Life activity and special events calendars.

Assesses student needs at North Harris and the centers to guide development of Student Life events.

Coordinates catering, technology, and facilities needs for Student Life events.

Purchases supplies and promotional specialty items for the Student Life office and student organizations.

Assists in the Student Life budget planning process by tracking budget expenditures and monitoring student organizations’ budget tracking.

Assists student organizations in completing essential paperwork for student travel and event planning.

Maintains the Student Life website and assists student organizations with advertising events and meetings.

Promotes development of student organizations at North Harris and the centers and assists students in creating new student organizations; provides training for student organization members and sponsors.

Disperses Student Life information to students; creates promotional flyers for events; maintains campus bulletin boards and poster frames.

Performs other reasonable, related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Proficiency with common office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.).

Exemplary people and communication skills.

Ability to create and display PowerPoint presentations.

Strong time‑management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and respond promptly.

Excellent customer‑service skills.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships and serve a diverse population.

Ability to prioritize own work and work with minimal supervision while maintaining confidentiality.

Physical Abilities The work is sedentary; occasional walking, standing, bending, bending, light carrying, or driving may be required. No special physical demands are required.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent and at least one year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
