Electrical Maintenance Mechanic 1st Shift

Pay $37.30 to $41.30 an hour with attendance bonus
Position Summary This technician will install, replace, and troubleshoot machines, equipment, and lighting systems for the facility. They will be involved in projects and corrective actions for all equipment in our facility.
Education And Experience Requirements
Must have at least 5 years documented electrical experience
Prefer a technician that has been through the electrical apprentice program
Or prefer a technician with a journeyman card, electrician, or master electrician certificate
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Skill Summary
Must have intermediate knowledge of PLCs, soft starts, and VFDs.
Can demonstrate experience with reading ladder logic and/or troubleshooting inputs and outputs at the PLC.
Can demonstrate reading an electrical schematic – will be asked to do so during the interview.
Must be able to understand the NEC manual and the code that will apply to voltage, power supplies, amperage, controls, and troubleshooting.
Must practice and understand LO/TO and Arc Flash.
Must understand 3‑phase 480, 240, and 208 circuits.
Understand 277 volts and lighting systems, including emergency lights, exit lights, and UPS systems.
Must be able to troubleshoot 120‑volt and 24‑VDC control circuits.
Must be able to demonstrate use of multimeter, amp‑probe, and megger when troubleshooting.
Must be able to install and remove any electrical motor and pump in the facility and be able to troubleshoot and make necessary repairs.
Must be able to run conduit and pull wire in rigid and seal tight conduit.
Must be able to work overtime when scheduled or needed, including weekends and holidays.
Must be able to do mechanical work, troubleshooting, installations, and repairs (multi‑craft).
Must have their own hand tools and toolbox.
Education And/Or Experience Less than high school education; 2 years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
License And Certification Required None
Training Requirements/Methods All employees are required to attend employee and safety orientation prior to performing the above duties. Once the employee completes this training they will be assigned to a Supervisor who will further orient the employee to the workplace, introduce them to colleagues, demonstrate work assignments, and explain ingress and egress procedures. A training buddy may be assigned to new employees for a period to assist in further training and indoctrination.
Work Environment The majority of the work will be performed outdoors with frequent exposure to the elements (heat, cold, humidity, rain, etc.). The employee may occasionally be exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. Noise levels in some work environments can be very loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
