What You’ll Do As the Shipping Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate daily shipping, warehouse, and distribution operations to ensure accurate inventory management and on‑time delivery to customers. You will lead shipping, pack‑out, material handling, and fittings teams while partnering closely with plant leadership to support production schedules and customer commitments.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, direct, and coordinate daily shipping and distribution activities
Oversee warehouse operations to ensure incoming and outgoing inventory is processed accurately and on schedule
Supervise shipping, pack‑out, material handlers, and fittings department employees
Set warehouse and team goals in collaboration with the Plant Manager and Production Supervisor
Audit inventory, analyze results, and recommend restocking strategies
Establish and maintain efficient warehouse practices, layouts, and protocols
Ensure shipping documentation, including invoices and packing lists, is accurate and completed on time
Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure they meet quality standards and customer requirements
Coordinate with carriers to ensure timely pick‑up and delivery
Track, analyze, and report shipping performance metrics
Maintain safety standards and ensure compliance with company and regulatory policies
Address shipping‑related issues and customer concerns as they arise
Identify and implement cost‑reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
Build strong working relationships internally and with external partners
What You’ll Need
Proven experience in a Shipping Supervisor or similar leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics processes, and inventory management
Experience using logistics and inventory management systems
Demonstrated leadership, delegation, and employee development skills
Excellent organizational, coordination, and problem‑solving abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment
Physical ability to stand or walk for extended periods
