Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and dependable Fleet Mechanic to join our maintenance team in Billerica, MA. This role focuses on inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of tractors and trailers, ensuring safe, reliable, and DOT‑compliant operation. Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks, trailers, and related fleet equipment
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues; complete necessary repairs or component replacements
Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with DOT, safety, and company standards
Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and documentation
Support shop organization by keeping the workspace clean, safe, and efficient
Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatchers, and management to coordinate repairs and minimize downtime
Stay informed on new tools, technologies, and best practices in diesel and fleet maintenance
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training preferred
2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, fleet technician, or similar role
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, brake systems, suspension components, and electrical diagnostics
Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically active tasks
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
