Job Description As a Senior Field Service Technician with BearCom, you will be responsible for the installation and support of wireless communications systems, including complex radio systems for public safety and enterprise customers.
Our Technicians are the heart of every service location, and we rely on their expertise in the delivery of the best service and solutions for our customers. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service and possess the technical ability to create imaginative solutions that meet and exceed the most challenging customer needs.
Create high‑level programming codeplugs (e.g., P25, Linked CAP+, CAP MAX, Repeaters)
Install and service complex wireless communications systems (e.g., UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz systems, dispatch consoles, BDA/DAS systems, microwave systems, wireless broadband devices, CCTV equipment)
Provide system recommendations and designs that meet customer requirements
Some regional and/or overnight travel and on‑call hours may be required
Preferred Qualifications
Professional electronics background
Experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing RF equipment
Complex understanding of two‑way radio theory and RF propagation characteristics at various frequency bands
Familiarity with RF design and engineering
Proficient operating test equipment (communication service monitors, wattmeters, TDRs, FDRs, multimeters)
IP networking experience
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Valid driver’s license
Drug screening, vehicle record, and background checks are part of the hiring process
