Posting Description MIT’s Professional Education (PE) program offers technology and engineering education to working professionals worldwide. In the Business Development Specialist role, you will support the PE Marketing and Communications team in driving revenue growth and market expansion through effective business development initiatives, conference attendance, and logistics support.
Support the PE Marketing and Communications team to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
Execute effective business development initiatives.
Attend conferences and support conference logistics.
Identify new business opportunities.
Build and nurture strong relationships with clients, potential clients, learners, and strategic partners.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum of two years of related work experience in a business development role.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced, high-volume environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Proficiency in marketing software and tools including email marketing platforms, social media management tools, and analytics platforms.
Working knowledge of digital marketing channels such as social media, content marketing, SEO, and email marketing.
Experience implementing lead segmentation strategies.
Strong organizational multitasking, analytical optimization, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build collaborative working relationships with individuals at all levels.
Team‑oriented, self‑motivated, organized, flexible, and resourceful.
Ability to travel locally and work occasional evenings and weekends.
Understanding of new market needs, cultural differences, and ability to lift 20 pounds and assist with transporting marketing materials and boxes to events.
Preferred: Experience in business development/marketing in higher education, Salesforce or other CRM system experience, or familiarity with AI tools.
