Job Summary This position is a regular, part-time, non-benefited position. It will average between 350 to 400 hours per calendar year. It involves managing student workers for Box Office and Front of House, managing student workers for Technical and Production Services, maintaining the safety of all patrons, clients, and student workers, ensuring life safety, fire code and OSHA compliance, and working knowledge of ADA law and patron concerns. Responsibilities also include locking/unlocking the building after events, handling patron and client issues, communicating with full‑time staff, and managing the ticketing system using Patron Manager and Salesforce. Experience with retail sales, ticket sales SOPs, PCI compliance, and cash handling procedures is required.
Responsibilities
Managing student workers for Box Office and Front of House.
Managing student workers for Technical and Production Services.
Maintaining the safety of all patrons, clients, and student workers; ensuring life safety, fire code, OSHA compliance, and ADA law adherence.
Locking and unlocking the building, securing spaces after events, handling patron/client issues, and communicating with full‑time staff.
Managing ticketing systems (Patron Manager and Salesforce), retail sales operations, standard operating procedures, and PCI compliance.
Handling deposits, cash‑handling procedures, reconciling financials, and securing money in the safe.
Overseeing the Townsend Center’s physical infrastructure and technical systems during events; operating theatrical systems (fly, lighting, sound, staging, orchestra lift) to industry standards.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Business, or Education.
Minimum 2 years of Performing Arts Experience and 2 years of Customer Service Experience.
Fluent computer and software user: MS Office, database usage, mail merge, email, internet, printers, scanners, and credit‑card processing.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, customer‑service, PR, verbal, and written communication skills.
Self‑motivated and self‑directed.
Clear, quick thinker able to work in crisis or emergency situations such as patron health emergencies, inclement weather, or physical assault.
Basic accounting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree (MFA, Education, Management, or Administration).
Formal training and knowledge with accounting systems.
At least 5 years of experience in management of performance venues.
Proposed Salary $21.00 - $25.00 per hour. Paid on a bi‑weekly basis.
