RESPONSIBLE FOR Under the direction of the Director, the manager oversees departmental operations of the Laboratory. Performs administrative duties including oversight and compliance of point of care testing and affiliated offsite areas. Monitors operations to ensure safe, efficient and quality performance standards for employees, patients and visitors. Collaboration with nursing, administrative, medical and other staff to coordinate patient care activities will be necessary to support the facilities mission statement, achieve customer satisfaction, and identify system problems as opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or a closely related field.
Five (5) years of clinical experience, including at least two (2) years with supervisory responsibilities, preferably in an acute care hospital setting. Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for.
Certification in medical technology; certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) required. AAB provisional certification not accepted.
A Master of Business Administration or Health Administration is preferred.
