Job Summary:

Functions in our group include safety, project field management, construction management, quality control, start up and decommissioning and field engineering.

Assure that all construction equipment works efficiently and safely. Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, such as cranes, bulldozers, forklifts, graders, and conveyors, used in construction. This is a field‑based role and requires travel.

Key Responsibilities

Use appropriate hand and power tools to repair, replace or perform maintenance on equipment.

Receive equipment, document the condition, schedule maintenance, and keep equipment service records.

Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.

Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles, and assure efficient, clean and safe fueling and oiling of equipment.

Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.

Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.

Adjust and maintain industrial machinery, using control and regulating devices.

Repair and replace damaged or worn parts, and fabricate needed parts or items from sheet metal.

Safely dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.

Clean parts by spraying them with grease solvent or immersing them in tanks of solvent.

Weld or solder broken parts and structural members, using electric or gas welders and soldering tools.

Repair, rewire, and troubleshoot electrical systems.

Research, order, and maintain parts inventory for services and repairs.

Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.

Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.

Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.

As needed, assist equipment operators in completing daily equipment inspections prior to each use; assure safety policies concerning equipment operation.

Assure that equipment leaving the job or warehouse is job‑ready for the next assignment.

May act as a lead and direct other professionals.

May supervise work of others.

May provide supervision, training development, and performance management of others.

Identify and assess improvement opportunities and participate in continuous improvement efforts; may support, encourage and facilitate others to engage in continuous improvement activities.

Participate in and/or lead all safety related processes and programs as requested; engage with your work team to ensure we achieve zero injuries. Understand that no job is so important that your safety and that of your crew will be compromised. Watch for hazards and report any concerns to your supervisor or safety professional. If needed, use your stop‑work authority until the issue is resolved.

Report all accidents and near misses to supervisor; participate in investigation process as needed.

Participate in and/or lead all pre‑job work planning and safety discussions.

Understand and respond appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices.

Understand, support, and follow lockout‑tagout procedures. Attend site specific training and assure you follow all procedures as outlined in training.

Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Use effective verbal and written communication skills.

Related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

High school graduate with some college experience.

Proficient Attention to Detail.

Construction equipment experience.

Proficient Communication – Written and Oral.

Strong Data Entry.

Proficient Mathematics.

Proficient Organizing Data.

Proficient Problem Solving.

Forklift certified.

Mechanical skills.

Minimum Qualifications

At least 7 years of experience working as a mechanic considered an A level Technician with strong working knowledge of mechanics.

At least 2 years of experience as a manager or supervisor.

Working knowledge of industrial construction equipment, machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Unrestricted driver's license and clean MVR.

Must have all necessary tools.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Position will require possession or obtaining a Class A CDL within 6 months of hire.

All applicants must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws).

Work Environment / Physical Demands

Travel may be required.

Typically a mixture of office, warehouse, laydown yard, and construction project site environment.

Requires working in cramped work spaces and awkward positions.

Requires working in very hot (above 90 °F) or very cold (below 32 °F) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain.

Requires working in extremely bright or low lighting conditions.

Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.

Work around hazardous equipment.

Requires exposure to high places.

Lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds.

Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas.

Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with job duties.

Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a procedure.

Requires repetitive movement.

Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.

Work up to a 12‑hour shift, doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.

Compensation & Benefits Salary: 112,000 USD per year (example).
