The Reactor Operations Specialist will develop, implement, and maintain operational procedures and a comprehensive operator training programs for Natura’s molten salt reactor designs. This individual will work within internal teams and coordinate with external contractors to prepare for safe, compliant, and efficient plant operations. Depending on experience, the candidate may also play a key role on the engineering team, contributing to the design and development of the MSR-1 and MSR-100 systems, and the licensing team, focusing on the preparation and submission of license applications for these systems. The Reactor Operations Specialist will report to the Reactor Operations Lead and Director of Reactor Operations, and play a pivotal role in supporting Natura’s mission to deliver safe, reliable nuclear power to the world.

Reactor Operations Specialist
to develop and maintain operational programs, procedures, and operator training materials for our liquid-fueled molten salt reactor technology. This role will drive operational excellence, ensure nuclear safety, and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and regulatory compliance, aligning with Natura’s mission to advance cutting-edge reactor technology. The Reactor Operations Specialist will also participate in a variety of engineering and licensing discussions as needed, while dedicating the majority of effort to reactor operations and related responsibilities. Multiple selections may be made for this position.

I.
Basic Responsibilities
Develop operational programs and procedures for Natura’s molten salt reactor systems, ensuring compliance with nuclear regulatory standards.
Participate in development of the operator training program for MSR-1 and MSR-100 customers.
Participate in the delivery of training to the initial license class at the ACU Molten Salt Research Reactor and other customers as needed.
Participate in a multi-disciplinary team of internal resources and external contractors, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
As needed, contribute to the other Natura teams in the development of MSR-1 and MSR-100 systems, leveraging technical expertise in engineering, licensing, security and emergency planning.
Coordinate with engineering and fabrication partners to review technical documents, including procedures, training materials, and system specifications.
Promote a safety-conscious work environment, ensuring compliance with company, site, and regulatory safety policies.
Represent Natura Resources in industry organizations and external communications.
Perform other duties as assigned.
II.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience as a licensed Reactor Operator or Senior Reactor Operator at a commercial power reactor or research reactor.
Other required disciplines:
Detailed knowledge of reactor operation, systems, components and procedures.
Experience in developing operational programs and procedures (NOP, AOP, EOP, etc)
Proven experience participating in multi-disciplinary teams with external contractors.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent the organization in internal and external settings.
Demonstrated leadership in fostering a safety-conscious work environment and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail.

Ability to travel, including moderate overnight travel as required.
