Position Overview Home Textiles specialist that facilitates & executes design's vision by providing the appropriate technical specifications, quality standards, sewing instruction & testing guidelines that support the Ralph Lauren Home brands while supporting the retail & wholesale business requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Product Development & Technical Specifications

Lead the creation and maintenance of detailed product technical specifications for RL sourcing offices and vendors

Demonstrate expert knowledge of sewing techniques across bedding, bath, and soft goods home accessory categories

Recommend cost‑effective alternative construction methods while maintaining product quality standards

Manage and evaluate product submits including color, strike‑offs, trims, sewing samples, and base cloths

Oversee development calendar and work‑in‑progress reports for seasonal products

Maintain comprehensive records of submits, Sample Evaluation Forms (SEFs), and various samples (market, PP, TOP)

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Partner with design teams to ensure accurate and complete art packs, including proper sizing and material specifications

Work closely with senior team on sourcing decisions and seasonal product allocation

Participate actively in art pack handover meetings, highlighting common materials and vendor requirements

Collaborate with Product Management and Director on cost impact analysis

Build and maintain strong relationships with cross‑functional partners to optimize development processes

Quality & Compliance Management

Initiate and oversee product testing and compliance requirements during early development stages

Monitor top‑of‑production samples for pattern accuracy, color consistency, quality, sizing, and labeling

Maintain an organized trim reference library with corresponding PLM material IDs

Vendor & Global Communication

Maintain daily communication with RL offices and vendors across USA, Asia, Europe, and South America

Partner with vendors to explore and develop new product categories

Present innovative solutions to design and merchant teams

Project Management

Ensure adherence to RL quality standards and development timelines

Proactively identify and resolve development challenges

Track and meet all technical pack deadlines to support production schedules

Monitor competitive retail landscape

Effectively manage workload according to department priorities

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

College Degree required.

4‑6 years experience in Product Development/Technical Design or related field.

Experience with factory setting production and sourcing.

Strong knowledge of fabric and yarn construction finishes and techniques.

Excellent interpersonal skills supporting a team environment.

Excellent English communication skills both verbal and written.

Excellent time management/project skills.

Proven organizational skills and ability manage competing priorities.

Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail and resourcefulness.

Ability to form strong partnerships with different departments.

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, MS Office, MS Excel.

FlexPLM or comparable PLM software experience preferred.
