Job description: Drive the VW Group Global strategy and initiatives for the North American Region. Support the team to establish and achieve an annual business plan to optimize the material cost of assigned parts, manage Steel Service Centers for Volkswagen Group of America, and implement localization and hidden cost strategies.
Responsibilities
Lead business Plan (50%): cost reduction activities, negotiate annual material cost savings with assigned suppliers, achieve business plan savings commitments, analyze localization rates, benchmark competitor products, and develop strategies to increase localization.
Lead Forward Sourcing (35%): develop forward sourcing strategy for assigned material groups, leverage current and future business through Global Sourcing, implement regional/global material group strategies, coordinate with VW Group counterparts, and create sourcing presentations with supporting data.
Secure Production Parts (15%): travel to suppliers to monitor part shortages, coach new buyers on shortage handling, and manage crisis responses for unforeseen supply chain disruptions.
Support team development, implement best practice negotiation skills, and handle analyst/reporting duties as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business or related field (required); MBA or degree in supply chain management or logistics (desired).
High analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
Excellent problem‑solving and integration abilities.
Knowledge of VW systems (EBON, Tevon, AIP, AVON, etc.).
Resource management and prioritization skills.
Professional integrity and commitment to self‑improvement.
Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Skills
Self‑motivation with ability to work independently.
