Overview The Quality Supervisor leads quality assurance operations within the Retail Distribution Center (RDC), ensuring product quality standards are maintained from receiving through delivery. The role involves supervising quality auditors, conducting root cause analysis, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with warehouse, manufacturing, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and optimize processes.
Schedule Hours vary weekly. Will be required to work two Saturdays per month. Monday‑Friday hours will vary from a start time of 5am, 8am, 9am, or 11am, and will work 8‑hour shifts.
Pay $25‑$27 per hour
Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance & Issue Resolution
Conduct or assist direct reports with troubleshooting, investigating, and auditing product and material quality issues
Communicate quality issues to appropriate production, warehouse, and engineering management teams
Conduct analysis and make recommendations to resolve quality problems
Make data‑driven decisions to optimize quality outcomes and production efficiency
Perform root cause analysis on repetitive damage issues found in prep lanes and throughout the facility
Assist and suggest corrective action measures to management based on investigation findings
Quality Monitoring & Reporting
Audit, monitor, maintain, and present daily/weekly quality reports on process variation and product opportunities
Collect furniture repair data in shop and prep lanes; enter data into appropriate databases
Analyze data for recurring furniture defect issues and communicate findings to quality, warehouse, and manufacturing management using Continuous Improvement communication tools
Record all product return information and analyze for repetitive issues
Communicate quality trends and recommend improvements to warehouse, manufacturing, and quality leadership
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with manufacturing and Retail Warehouse management to resolve quality and process opportunities
Build and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with RDC management teams
Work directly with warehouse team and manager to develop, test, and implement overall quality initiatives
Coordinate reviews of all new floor introductions with appropriate teams to identify assembly, handling/storage, repair material, delivery, and product opportunities
Report opportunities found to appropriate management and design/facilitate training when necessary
Audit Management & Training
Train, direct, and monitor quality auditors on projects and daily responsibilities
Develop and manage audit protocols and communication activities
Audit regularly to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to
Investigate product returns to determine root cause of damages
Train and mentor warehouse employees on the product return investigation process
Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization
Identify process improvement projects and opportunities
Lead process improvement teams as needed
Analyze product service claims for repetitive service reasons; communicate findings and make recommendations to manufacturing and quality management
Analyze replacement part requests for patterns and determine root cause
Identify products with repetitive delivery failures and make recommendations for product removal from sales floor to appropriate management
Compliance & Safety
Maintain responsibility for compliance to established processes through collaboration with RDC management team
Escalate non‑compliance issues when appropriate
Maintain departmental equipment to ensure proper and safe operations
Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring employees wear PPE and follow safety compliance standards
Assist functional area Superintendent or Manager to improve systems of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control, and performance management
Team Leadership & Employee Development
Make employment decisions and/or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, pay adjustments
Coordinate and manage the work of quality auditors by directing team members to meet department goals
Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements through coaching, mentoring, and administering performance reviews
Recommend, plan, and/or implement employee training and skill development activities
Audit, maintain, and ensure employee time‑keeping and absentee records are accurate
Communicate company and departmental issues and goals through weekly team meetings, regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company‑offered learning opportunities
Facilitate employee growth and development
Resource Management
Manage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods, and materials
Ensure availability of tools, equipment, and materials needed for quality operations
Qualifications Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
Experience
Minimum 3‑5 years in quality assurance, quality control, or related field in manufacturing, distribution, or logistics environment
Minimum 2 years supervisory or leadership experience
Experience with furniture, retail distribution, or warehouse operations preferred
Root cause analysis and problem‑solving experience required
Skills & Competencies Technical Skills
Proficiency with quality management systems and databases
Data analysis and reporting skills (Excel, Power BI, or similar tools)
Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
Knowledge of quality control standards and inspection processes
Ability to read and interpret product specifications and quality standards
