Sr Project Manager, Opengear (Sandy, UT – Hybrid) Opengear designs and manufactures products for data center and remote site management. Opengear is seeking a Sr. Project Manager to lead cross‑functional initiatives within the Engineering organization. In this role, you will manage the development and implementation processes for Opengear products, partnering closely with Product Management, Engineering, and other technical disciplines. You will define project plans and schedules, identify required resources, track progress, manage risk, and ensure timely delivery of complex, multi‑phase technical projects. The Sr. Project Manager role operates with minimal supervision, exercising strong independent judgment, and often functions as a leader for both technical and cross‑functional project teams. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of project management frameworks, engineering workflows, and organizational coordination.

What You Will Do

Drive end‑to‑end project management for multiple engineering initiatives across the product development lifecycle

Define and maintain project scope, schedules, resources, milestones, and risk mitigation plans

Coordinate activities across internal teams (Engineering, QA, Product, Operations, Support) and third‑party vendors when applicable

Serve as primary point of contact for project status, updates, and stakeholder communication

Track project execution against objectives, proactively identify risks or delays, and develop mitigation strategies

Facilitate agile or hybrid project workflows including sprint planning, retrospectives, and issue tracking

Support process improvements, best practices, and tool adoption across the engineering project portfolio

Who You Are and What You Bring

5 years of experience leading technical or product development projects in a software or engineering environment

PMP certification or equivalent project management credential preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field

Proven ability to manage complex technical projects involving cross‑functional teams

Expertise in Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar tools for project tracking and resource planning

Excellent communication, planning, and problem‑solving skills

Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of driving clarity through structured execution

Desired but Not Required

Experience in Quality Management Systems or regulated environments

Background in product development lifecycle or release management

Familiarity with budget tracking and business case development

Prior exposure to Agile, hybrid, or Scaled Agile frameworks
