The Role DCO Systems Technician

As a DCO Systems Technician at Switch, you will be part of a world-class team that operates in excellence, delivering mission-critical solutions that redefine what’s possible in AI, cloud and enterprise data center needs. Your work will directly impact the future of technology and the sustainable growth of the Internet.

Responsibilities

Ensure and maintain 100% critical systems uptime.

Train towards becoming a First Responder to critical infrastructure alarms.

Ensure accurate and timely completion of work orders.

Handle different tools and equipment with precision.

Adhere to Switch Safety Policies and Procedures.

Work with vendors and contractors to ensure their work meets Switch standards.

Assist in inspecting buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.

Perform assigned collateral duties and tasks assigned by management staff.

Attend assigned meetings and training.

Maintain a professional appearance.

Drive next-level innovation in Data Center Operations – systems to support our mission‑critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

2‑year experience in a general field as a full‑time employee.

Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, DC power systems, ATS/STS units, PDU units, breakers, batteries, load bank connections, CRACs, air handling units, fluid coolers, pumps, cages, and fire suppression systems.

Knowledge of data center, safety, electrical, and cooling designs.

Ability to follow established safety practices and procedures in applicable situations.

Availability to work any shift in a 24×7×365 operation, including weekends and holidays.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Basic typing, email, and computer skills.

High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical Trade School related to Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics.

Preferred: Outlook Fundamentals, OSHA 10, Material Equipment Operator (MEO), First Aid/CPR, NFPA‑70E (Arc Flash), Golf Cart, Data Center University, Building Fire Riser, Fire Extinguisher.
