Job Summary The Sewer Superintendent oversees the City’s wastewater collection and wastewater treatment systems, including lift stations, mains, manholes, treatment processes, sampling, and regulatory compliance. This position provides high‑level management and planning while also performing hands‑on field operations as needed. Work is performed with considerable independence within established policy guidelines. Supervises wastewater collection crews and treatment plant operators, performs related duties as required, and reports to the Director of Public Services.
Minimum Qualifications Requires a high school diploma or GED supplemented by up to five years of previous experience in water and wastewater maintenance and/or heavy equipment operations, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Special Requirements
TCEQ Class B Wastewater Operator Certification required.
TCEQ Grade B Groundwater Operator Certification preferred.
Valid state driver’s license required.
