Base pay range:
$16.00/hr - $19.00/hr

Duties
Supervise children at all times during outdoor play to ensure safety and well‑being.
Monitor playground equipment and play areas daily for safety hazards and report concerns promptly.
Encourage inclusive, cooperative, and respectful play among children.
Support conflict resolution by modeling and guiding positive problem‑solving skills.
Engage children in active play and age‑appropriate activities that promote gross motor development.
Enforce playground rules and safety guidelines consistently and fairly.
Communicate any incidents, injuries, or behavioral concerns to classroom teachers and/or administration.
Assist in transitions to and from the playground to maintain order and safety.
Follow all center policies, licensing regulations, and health/safety guidelines.
Participate in program evaluations, monthly staff meetings, and required training programs as mandated by the PDS and the DSS.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality with children, families and staff.
Relationship Responsibilities
Respond to students with sensitivity and care; address their needs and questions, and engage at eye level.
Use proactive behavior management, redirect early, and engage students positively before issues arise.
Set clear behavioral expectations and consistently praise students for meeting them while building strong, respectful relationships.
Apply consistent, respectful consequences; respond immediately and calmly to help students learn from their behavior.
Reinforce positive behaviors with specific praise and enthusiastic recognition.
Model rich language by engaging in thoughtful, two‑way conversations with students.
Communicate with fellow educators positively and collaboratively.
Requirements
Program leader requirements as mandated through the DSS Standards for Licensed Child Day Centers.
Conduct self in a manner worthy of a child’s respect, both on site and in the community.
Respond appropriately to authority and communicate well with coworkers and supervisors.
Be able to lift 30 to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Possess stamina and mental clarity to work punctually and consistently for assigned shifts.
Nice to Have
Experience in early childhood education or related field.
Hold a CDS or other associate’s degree or higher.
Current First Aid/CPR certification.
Current Medication Administration Training (MAT).
