Summary:
As a Calibration Technician at Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test equipment that supports our mission‑essential aerospace systems. You’ll take ownership of complex calibration and repair tasks across AC/DC circuitry, collaborate with engineers, and help shape new calibration processes that drive efficiency across the organization.
What You Will Do
Calibrate and repair test equipment related to AC/DC circuitry
Read electrical schematics
Work under minimal supervision to perform highly complex technical tasks
Communicate and provide technical recommendations for capital, expense, and service acquisitions
Work from minimal documentation or written/verbal instructions
Assist engineers with design and development of new calibration processes
Maintain a monthly/weekly workload of calibration and repair
Support on‑site calibration and repairs at surrounding sites
Work with electrical and mechanical test equipment
Apply electronic theory to configure, model, layout, prototype, build, test, troubleshoot, determine solutions, and modify electronic products for engineering efforts
Qualifications You Must Have
Associate degree (AA/AS) or equivalent 2‑year post‑high‑school training with a minimum of 6 years of related experience
Background in a STEM field or equivalent technical training
Strong knowledge of electronic circuitry and troubleshooting skills
Ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. government Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AC/DC equipment such as multimeters, calibrators, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication
Strong troubleshooting and repair skills using printed or written work instructions
Good time‑management and ability to reorganize tasks when priorities shift
