Medicaid Senior Business Analyst (Senior BA)
Location: Montgomery, Alabama, United States (remote with limited client site travel)
NTT DATA is looking for a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst to support the Medicaid Claims Processing System. The role will work closely with State staff, project teams, and vendors to manage the full system life cycle for the current MMIS and future CPMS takeover project.
Job Responsibilities Include:
Participate in development and formulation of process specifications to meet business requirements; guide overall requirements.
Define and document requirements (business, functional, and technical); perform in‑depth analyses; develop plans and approaches for design, development, testing, and CMS certification.
Provide guidance on training activities, roll‑out strategies, and post‑production activities.
Bridge the transition from project to program, advising business stakeholders during operations transition.
Assist the Project Manager with project management processes and performance metrics.
Analyze source systems and identify potential data gaps.
Provide project management support: scope, requirements, defect, schedule, risk, issue, communications, change, quality, and user acceptance test management.
Participate in testing strategy, plan, and results; support transition to operations processes.
Contribute to weekly and monthly reports on activities, risks, issues, observations, findings, and recommendations.
Support monthly project summary reporting to CMS.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 8 years of experience as a Senior Business Analyst with 3 years of business process modeling and management.
5+ years of experience in MMIS or domain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, or a major health‑care payer.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience at large multi‑contractor organizations, including leading centralized or matrixed teams.
2+ years of experience with MS Visio, MS Project, and MS Office 365.
Preferred Skills:
Experience facilitating requirements development sessions.
Ability to review deliverables and processes for quality and completeness.
Experience in test case development, execution, defect identification, and reporting.
Experience developing and reviewing implementation deliverables.
Experience with data conversions.
Experience working on projects with multiple vendors.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The starting pay range for this remote role is $97,032 – $145,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation across all U.S. locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. The position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
