Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift - Chattanooga, TN/Plant I
Role Summary
Provide guidance and direction regarding product quality during the manufacturing of cold and hot metal stampings, laser cut metals, and robotically MIG, spot, and projection welded assemblies through direct communication with production, engineering, tooling, maintenance, and quality personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain the quality level of product.
Authorized to stop the line when quality defects are found.
Use various tools, fixtures, measurement devices to analyze functionality of product.
Recognize and disposition of product requiring sort, rework or scrap based on customer specifications.
Advise operators and supervisors on current and historical part quality and acceptability.
Key Qualifications & Requirements
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Frequent ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear.
Occasional lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
Knowledge and Education
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience in Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment is required.
