Base pay range $95,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr

Directs and manages all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production and other production-related activities. Direct reports include all Operations Supervisors on multiple shifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinates plant activities to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished (OA/quality goals and on-time delivery).

Controls and minimizes costs associated with overtime and turnover.

Assures shop floor organization and cleanliness of plant facilities.

Provides direction, development and leadership for Operations Supervisors and Team Leads to accomplish the company goals and objectives.

Partners with peers and support resources including Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Facilities/Maintenance, Scheduling, Shipping/Receiving, IT and Product Engineering to accomplish mutual goals.

Assures worker safety through use of appropriate tools, equipment, and work environment, and by ensuring safe work processes. Works with Safety Manager to ensure MIOSHA compliance throughout plant.

Recommends operations staffing needs.

Coaches and provides technical expertise to resolve process problems/issues and ensures that corrective actions are implemented.

Creates a high morale workplace with the highest ethical standards.

Manages the performance of all employees under his/her direction through coaching, administration of the OMT-Veyhl Performance Appraisal program and through appropriate progressive discipline, as necessary.

Oversees scheduling of employees and their work to assure customer products are produced on time and meet quality expectations.

Utilizes problem solving techniques, teambuilding strategies, process controls, and continuous improvement tools to meet or exceed company productivity and key performance indicators.

Assists in managing policy deployment in the areas of lean manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls, and plant performance measures.

Manages material requirements to increase inventory turns and reduce levels on hand.

Assists with ensuring compliance with ISO standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, OSHA, safety, and completion and on-time delivery at the lowest possible cost.

Oversees the development, implementation, and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Leadership: A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results.

Thorough understanding of quality assurance methods and procedures.

Computer proficient.

Must be a team player.

Mechanically minded.

Highly organized.

Ability to teach employees necessary skills and processes.

Five years minimum plant, operations, or general management experience in a manufacturing environment.

Background in manufacturing methods, process improvement programs, and manufacturing procedures required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similarly related field

Minimum two years manufacturing engineering supervision experience

Hands‑on manufacturing experience is preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange accurate information with co‑workers, subordinates, customers, and vendors.

The employee is frequently required to traverse the facility and occasionally remain in a stationary position.

The employee is occasionally required to ascend/descend and position themselves around manufacturing equipment, office workspaces, etc.

The employee may be required to move, lift, and/or transport items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Specific abilities required by this job include the ability to perceive items up close, observe items at a distance, distinguish between colors, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Position will function in a manufacturing environment.

The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.

The work environment is occasionally dusty.
