Job Summary
The Student Union's Student Services Manager works on a dynamic team of community builders and Student Union professionals overseeing a variety of student-focused services for our department. They work closely with the Union's Associate Director to develop and implement ongoing co-curricular opportunities and operational procedures for those services. Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and/or controlling all aspects pertaining to student service functions of the Union's internal and external customer service, staffing, and financial management operations for areas including (but not limited to) Union Recreation, Union Services Desk, Union Building Managers, Union Fellowships, and Union Scholarships.
Responsibilities
Supervise the Student Area Leaders of the Union Recreation Desk, Services Desk, and Building Managers.
Oversee the student service areas of the Union Recreation Desk, Services Desk, and Building Managers.
Oversee the Union Fellowship Program.
Oversee student scholarship applications and the scholarship application review process.
Implement trainings and co-curricular activities for student services.
Facilitate cooperative and collaborative community and institutional relationships.
Ensure customer satisfaction by analyzing complaints, concerns and suggestions and providing appropriate follow-through.
Forecast, develop, and implement policies and procedures in the areas of customer service, staff management and co-curricular training goals and objectives that are consistent with University of Utah's policies.
Ensure competency of staff through the development and/or presentation of educational programs and through ongoing staff performance evaluations.
Qualifications
Supervisory Level : Requires a bachelor’s or equivalent degree plus 2 years of directly related work experience, or a master’s degree. This is a Supervisor-Level position (Job Code: M23311, Grade: M17).
Senior Supervisory Level : Requires a bachelor’s or equivalent degree plus 4 years of directly related work experience, or a master’s plus 2 years. This is a Senior Supervisor-Level position (Job Code: M23312, Grade: M18).
Managerial Level : Requires a bachelor’s or equivalent degree plus 6 years of directly related work experience, or a master’s plus 4 years. This is a Manager-Level position (Job Code: M23313, Grade: M20).
Education equivalency: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience.
Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.
Additional Information
Full Time — Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Location: Campus.
Pay Rate Range: $62,000 – $68,000 per year.
