Martin Marietta is seeking a Leadperson to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will work with plant management in planning and organizing employees for the production shifts at the plant. This will include communicating standards of excellence in the daily work assignments of assigned team in order to meet safe production goals. The Leadperson will communicate standards through stated goals, daily interactions, and team meetings. This position will work at our Lakeside (Vigilante) quarry.
A typical day for a Leadperson may include:
Performing standard office duties, plant duties, equipment repairs and operating mobile equipment. This position is a working supervisor.
Establishing and maintaining effective communication within all areas of operation
Performing regular inspections for safety, housekeeping and mechanical issues in all areas of the operation
Implementing and applying all safety rules, regulations and procedures of mine and property as set forth by federal, state, and local agencies and policies, as well as company guidelines and safety standards
Working closely with the management to ensure implementation of scheduled maintenance on all equipment when necessary
Completing required reports if needed
Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed
Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor
You may be a good fit if you:
Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position
Have at least five (5) years of experience in the building materials, mining, or aggregates industry
Three to five years of supervisory experience highly desired
Must have experience operating plant and mobile equipment along with mechanical background
Strong communication skills required
Must abide by safety rules and regulations
The hiring range for this position is $40.00-$50.00 exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The hiring range for this role represents the base compensation we expect to pay for the position at time of hire and does not represent the total possible base pay of the position.
