Recruiting Strategist at SourceLab Search and The Bachrach Group (TBG) - Executive Search Our client a leading Law Firm, is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their Fund Formation & Tax Practice area.
Job Responsibilities
Lead business development, marketing, and client growth initiatives for the Fund Formation & Tax practice area, partnering cross‑functionally to deliver high‑quality work on tight timelines.
Shape and refine practice‑level messaging and positioning, including value propositions and narratives around key clients and matters.
Create, update, and manage ready‑to‑use marketing and pitch materials that clearly communicate the practice’s strengths and capabilities.
Drive visibility and profile‑raising efforts such as conference participation, sponsorships, speaking engagements, events, and thought leadership initiatives.
Partner closely with attorneys to support individual and group business development goals, translating priorities into actionable BD strategies and execution plans.
Support new business pursuits and pitch efforts by:
Leading strategy and briefing conversations around opportunities.
Coordinating market, industry, and client research to inform approach.
Drafting proposals and responses to RFIs/RFPs.
Developing pitch collateral including one‑pagers, infographics, and leave‑behinds.
Managing post‑pitch follow‑up, feedback, and debriefs.
Work with research teams to deliver ongoing market insights and competitive intelligence.
Manage strategy, execution, and follow‑up for legal directory submissions across relevant practice areas.
Coordinate award submissions that elevate practice and attorney visibility.
Oversee accuracy and upkeep of practice‑related content across proposal and matter databases.
Maintain and analyze pitch and proposal tracking systems, monitoring activity and outcomes by client, industry, and service type.
Job Specifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; business, marketing, communications, or liberal arts preferred.
Experience: 6+ years in business development, marketing, or practice management within a law firm or professional services environment; minimum of 3 years directly supporting practice‑level business development.
