Pharmacy Benefits Verification Specialist
– Scottsdale, AZ
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30am – 6pm AZ local time.
Starting salary: $22/hr with quarterly incentive bonuses.

Job Summary The Benefit Verification Specialist investigates, reviews, and loads accurate patient insurances, assigns coordination of benefits, runs test claims, identifies authorization requirements, and enrolls eligible patients in copay card assistance programs. Ensures accurate documentation for all prescription orders.
Major Responsibilities
Practice first‑call resolution to help health care providers and patients.
Provide thorough, accurate, timely responses to benefit information requests.
Ensure complete, accurate patient setup in CPR+ system.
Perform full benefits verification on pharmacy and medical benefits.
Run test claims at each licensed pharmacy site and document outcomes in CPR+.
Facilitate medical authorization requests for commercial, Medicaid, Medicare.
Maintain safe and clean pharmacy environment; comply with regulations and confidentiality laws.
Contribute to team effort and other duties as assigned.
Adhere to company policies, federal and state laws, and professional standards.
Qualifications Education/Learning Experience
Required: High School Diploma or GED; prior experience in Pharmacy, Medical Billing, or Benefits Verification.
Desired: Associate degree, Certified Pharmacy Technician, specialty pharmacy experience.
Work Experience
Required: 1+ years in pharmacy or benefit verification.
Desired: 3+ years in pharmacy or benefit verification.
Skills and Knowledge
Pharmacy insurance and benefit verification; PBM and medical contracts; Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance; pharmacy test claim and NCPDP claim rejection resolution; coordination of benefits; NDC medication billing; pharmacy/healthcare terminology; basic math and analytical skills, intermediate typing/keyboarding skills.
Behavior Competencies
Independent worker with good interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication; detail‑oriented; great time‑management; ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines and be flexible.
