Key Responsibilities

Installation and Commissioning.

Perform installation, alignment, and commissioning of new pump systems at client sites. Ensure equipment meets design and performance specifications.

Maintenance and Repairs.

Conduct routine preventive maintenance and scheduled service of pump systems, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and execute effective repairs in the field.

Troubleshooting.

Identify and resolve operational problems with pump systems, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective measures.

Documentation and Reporting.

Maintain detailed service records, including maintenance logs, repair reports, and client communication. Prepare technical reports to document service outcomes and recommendations.

Leadership and Mentorship.

Lead service projects and direct the work of junior technicians and apprentices. Provide training and mentorship to develop team skills and expertise.

Client Support.

Interact with clients professionally, provide clear communication regarding service activities, and recommend maintenance best practices. Assist clients in understanding the operation and maintenance of their pump systems.

Safety and Compliance.

Adhere to company safety protocols and industry standards to ensure safe working conditions. Comply with all relevant regulations such as OSHA and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Travel.

Travel to client sites as required for field service work, including overnight or extended stays. Be available for emergency callouts and weekend work as needed.

Education High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in mechanical/electrical fields preferred.

Experience 10+ years of field service experience working with water & wastewater pump systems; experience with various pump types and brands is essential.

Technical Knowledge Strong mechanical aptitude with advanced understanding of pump components, hydraulics, and electrical systems related to pump and water treatment operations.

Certifications Certifications related to pump maintenance and repair, such as those from the Hydraulic Institute or similar organizations, are a plus.

Skills

Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals.

Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.

Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 75 lbs).

Willingness to work in various environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and confined spaces.

Physical stamina to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.

Work Environment This role involves working at client facilities, which may include industrial plants, construction sites, or remote locations. The technician must adhere to safety practices and wear appropriate PPE while performing duties.
