Associate – Research Associate: Drug Product Technologies
Location:
Thousand Oaks, CA (Onsite)
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, standard business hours
Compensation:
$24–$28 per hour (based on experience)
Summary Join a large biotech pharmaceutical leader as a Research Associate supporting Drug Product Technologies. You will conduct laboratory experiments focused on formulation development for therapeutic proteins, with an emphasis on stability testing and analytical characterization. This on‑site role collaborates closely with a scientific team using advanced biochemical and biophysical techniques to support the development of protein‑based therapies.
Key Responsibilities
Perform experiments supporting the development of protein formulations, including stability studies
Utilize biochemical and biophysical techniques for analytical characterization of protein therapeutics
Conduct protein solution manipulation such as pipetting, dialysis, and concentration
Operate analytical instruments including HPLC and interpret resulting data
Analyze experimental results and ensure accurate data interpretation
Maintain detailed experimental records using electronic laboratory notebooks
Work independently and collaboratively within a laboratory team
Follow laboratory safety, compliance, and documentation standards
Qualifications Must‑Have Skills:
HPLC experience
Protein analysis and characterization
Strong problem‑solving skills
Required Experience & Skills:
Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience in industry or academia
Proficiency with pipetting, sample preparation, and protein sample analysis
Strong understanding of protein chemistry and structure
Hands‑on experience with HPLC chromatography
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Motivation and ability to learn new laboratory techniques
Preferred:
Experience with visible and sub‑visible particle analysis
Exposure to a broad range of protein analytical methods
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
Prepare samples and perform HPLC measurements and protein analyses
Document experiments and results in electronic lab notebooks
Analyze data, draw conclusions, and communicate findings
Collaborate daily with team members to advance project objectives
Education (Basic Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutics, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related life sciences OR equivalent
Associate’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience OR equivalent
High school diploma/GED with 4+ years of relevant experience and foundational technical knowledge
