About The Role
The RealReal is looking for an experienced sales account executive with an entrepreneurial drive who has expertise in building trust and relationships with consignors and partners that are open to Trust and Estate transactions. The Business Development Manager will help clients navigate and weigh options as a trusted advisor and steward of customer satisfaction. In this role, there is an opportunity to strategically scale business opportunities and tap into a niche market. You will deliver on sales results and expand the consignor network. This is an exciting opportunity to work on behalf of the country’s largest authenticated online luxury consignment marketplace.
What You Get To Do Every Day
Drive business by prospecting existing connections and developing points of aggregation with new consignors. Contacts include but are not limited to: auction houses, lawyers, private wealth managers, appraisers, advisors, and organizers.
Achieve a monthly consignment goal for your dedicated geographic market through self-generated and corporate leads.
Develop and implement marketing strategies to continually increase consignment with The RealReal.
Meet with consignors in their home to set price expectations and procure their luxury merchandise.
Utilize your knowledge of luxury merchandise to carefully review and process all items for shipment to ensure they are cataloged and are up to our very high‑quality standards.
Be able to multitask, excel with change management and ambiguity, work cross functionally with different teams and levels, and have excellent communication skills. Build productive internal/external working relationships.
Act as an internal liaison and problem solver to find a solution for consignor relation concerns, hesitations and obstacles.
Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
What You Bring To The Role Minimum Requirements
A very strong network of professional contacts who could also yield additional consignors.
5+ years of work experience in business development, outside sales, consignment or auctions.
A strong sales ability and an entrepreneurial spirit.
A high degree of business acumen and the ability to establish trust is mission critical. This position requires the person to work directly with discerning clientele.
Demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding monthly goals and targets.
Deep knowledge of luxury brands.
Great attention to detail and customer service.
Ability to master multiple technical devices and systems.
Active in the community and charitable organizations is a plus.
Ability to work evenings and weekends when needed to accommodate the client’s request for an appointment.
Position is a very full‑time job with a rigorous schedule and requires a high level of commitment.
Sit for long hours with heavy time in front of computer.
Travel can be more than 50% based on the clients’ request and needs.
A current, valid driver’s license.
Car insurance that meets or exceeds local requirements.
A satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Compensation, Benefits, + Perks The expected salary range for this role is $77,878.00–$93,687.00. Salary is just one component of TRR’s total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
